Leaving a Legacy
Psalm 119:111-112 “Your statues are my heritage forever; they are the joy of my heart. My heart is set on keeping your decrees to the very end.”
Psalm 119:111-112 “Your statues are my heritage forever; they are the joy of my heart. My heart is set on keeping your decrees to the very end.”
Ephesians 5:21 “Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.”
In today’s world, everyone seems to be very concerned with their individual rights. More than any other season in my lifetime, people are easily offended and willing to sever relationships over minor disagreements. In Ephesians 5 and 6, Paul writes about how we can grow through submitting to each other.
Philippians 2:3-4 “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”
Everyone would like to consider themselves to be generous. Those who see the needs of others and give are the “good guys” in our world. When we think of generosity, our first thought is often financial. But there are many ways to be generous. Another way to give is by giving your time.

Micah 6:8 "He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."
Psalms 43:3-5 “Send me your light and your faithful care, let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell."

Psalm 116:1-2 "I love the Lord because He hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because He bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!"
I love the picture of a father bending down to hear his child. How many times have you stooped down to look a child in the face to speak to him or her? We do this because we want them to focus on us or want them to know we are listening to them. We want them to feel and know they are important!
Ephesians 5:25 “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her . . .”
Colossians 3:23-24 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”
Ezekiel 47:8-9 “The waters of this stream will make the salty waters of the Dead Sea fresh and pure. There will be swarms of living things wherever the water of this river flows.”
A few weeks ago, I went on an amazing hike. I was in the Smoky Mountains and had a free day to explore. After doing a quick search on my phone, I found a great trail that took me up a stream as I ascended a mountain. The beauty was incredible, and I found myself stopping a few times to take in the creation around me.
