Colossians 3:23-24 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”
Colossians 2:13-14 He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.
A couple of years ago, I celebrated with a couple who made their final payment on their student loans. For years, this couple worked extra jobs, sacrificed things they wanted, and diligently chipped away at their debts each month. Finally, after much effort and discipline, their debts were paid! They were so excited to have this off their back!

The majority of people, according to studies, muddle through the workday with all the enthusiasm of someone watching paint dry. For them, the words “work” and “necessary evil” are synonymous. But is this the way it should be?
