1 Thessalonians 5:16-18  “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing,  give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you”

Finding God’s will sounds mystical and complicated.  And often we are only concerned with the will of God when we feel stuck or confused.  But in 1 Thessalonians 5 we see three practical steps what will allow us to live in the will of God.

  1. Rejoice always
  2. Pray continually
  3. Give thanks in all circumstances

Last week we looked at how we can rejoice always because of the grace God gives us everyday.  Today, lets learn how to pray continually.  Prayer is a conversation with God and He desires to stay connected to us at all times.  Ephesians 6:18 “Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion.  Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.”  If we wanted to grow deeper in prayer we also can set focused times to pray too.

How about you?  Are you in a place today where you are pondering the will of God?  When was the last time you set aside 15 minutes to connect with God in prayer?

Take some time this weekend to read about how Jesus did this in Mark 1:35 and connect with God personally in prayer.  He is waiting and this is God’s will for all of our lives.

 God Bless,

 Mike
