Prayer - Your Secret Weapon
Ephesians 6:18-20 "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people."
During World War 2, the Nazis were working on a secret weapon for conquering England and winning the war. It was called the V-3 gun.
The V-3 gun was a huge cannon that was over a football field and a half long. It was so big that much of it had to be built underground. It would launch a bomb for more than 100 miles at 4 times the speed of sound. It had a special firing mechanism that used multiple small explosions all along the barrel, rather than one big one, to
make the missile gain speed.
The Nazis were building it on the coast of France and they had it aimed at London. If it worked, it would turn London into rubble. But the German engineers were not able to finish it before the Allies overran them after D-Day. If they had finished that secret weapon, London as we know it would have been wiped out.
When it comes to our spiritual journey, we too have a secret weapon. It is
prayer! In Scripture we will learn to let the Spirit guide our prayer, pray for
everything, and to be alert in prayer.
Do you try to fix things before taking it to God? Do you worry about your future and things that are out of your control? Are you trying to navigate life without your greatest secret weapon?
Take a few minutes to read and reflect on Ephesians 6:18-20 and never forget the secret weapon of prayer!
God Bless,
Mike
