John 1:1-5 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

I was working on a project last week and couldn’t see what I was doing. The screw I was trying to turn was small and was tucked back in a very dark spot. It wasn’t until I shined a light in the area, that I was able to see what needed to be done.

The same is true in our hearts. If we are honest, all of us struggle with dark corners in our souls. We have attitudes, behaviors, thoughts, that we really don’t want others to see or know about. This Christmas we celebrate the “true light” that came into the world. Jesus came into the world as the light of the world. Our first reaction is often to hide when we find darkness in our lives, but Jesus calls us to come to Him and to seek the light. This light, Jesus, brings life and can overcome any darkness. He is the greatest gift anyone can receive. Celebrate the light of Jesus and allow Him to light up the dark parts of your life this Christmas season.

Merry Christmas,

Mike
