Ezekiel 11:19 “I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh.”

The heart is an important part of the body.  It pumps blood with nutrients and oxygen to power your life.  If you have a sick heart, it is a major problem.  The same is true when it comes to your spiritual heart.  A healthy spiritual life flows from a heart that follows God.  As followers of Jesus, we must keep our hearts soft.  Hardened hearts can’t resemble the heart of Jesus.  But the Holy Spirit can give us the desire to know and be like Jesus.

Hearts that are given wholly to God:

  1. Create unity (Acts 4:32-33)
  2. Have a new Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)
  3. Remain soft (Ezekiel 11:20)

How about you?  Have you let the distractions of this world impact your heart in a negative way?  How would you measure the softness of your heart to God’s leading right now?  In what way do you need to turn back to Jesus Christ?

Take a few moments to read and reflect on Ezekiel 11.  Ask the Lord to soften your heart where it is needed and to create a new “want-to” to follow Him closer today.
