Genesis 22:14 “So Abraham called that place The Lord will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”

Growing up I always had an example of a father that provided. My dad is a business owner who started his company when I was a teenager. I watched him work hard, make good choices and provide for his family. In our family we had everything we needed and almost everything we wanted. I was taught to provide for yourself and your family.

There are times in life when we are reminded that we cannot fully provide. When our plans do not work or the sale does not go through, it is in these times that we are reminded that God wants us to trust Him to provide.

In Matthew 7:9-11 Jesus reveals the heart of God when he says, “Ask and it will be given to you.”   It takes humility to ask God but when we do we need to ask God specifically, ask God persistently, and respond with thankful giving to others.

How about you today? Do you shoulder the responsibility of providing without God? Is there an area of need today that you know you cannot meet? Are you exhausted by trying to provide on your own?

God loves you. He knows our needs. Come to Him today and ask Him to provide. And when He does trust Him with more.

God Bless,

Mike
