Open to Change
Matthew 1:18-19 “but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit. Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.”
Have you ever had a plan that was interrupted? Maybe you had a full day scheduled and the school called a snow day! Or you needed to get home and the flight was canceled! No one likes to have their plans changed but if you are a follower of Jesus this may be a sign that God is working. There are times when God will change our plans to fulfill his purpose.
Mary and Joseph new this well. They had a plan to get married but God interrupted their plans to make room for Jesus. He often does the same for us today. God’s activity often looks like an interruption, disappointment, or failure but it is often in these moments that God is setting us on a course for something we could not imagine.
How about you? Are you open to a change that God may have for you? Will you make room for Jesus this Christmas season in your heart? Is God interrupting you today?
Take a moment to read and reflect on Matthew 1:18-25 and face the fear of change in your life. Surrender to God and make room for Jesus this Christmas season.
God Bless,
Mike
