Ephesians 3:17-19 “Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.  And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and deep his love is.  May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully.”

I drive a gas-powered car.  (I’d love to drive an electric car but have not pulled the trigger yet.)  Gas is the fuel that keeps my car moving.  Without fuel, my car will not work!  I have found this out the hard way!  In Ephesians 3, we see that love is the fuel that God uses to change the world.  He has an infinite supply of this and will share it with us in abundance if we just ask.

The love of God is deep.  It is greater than our feelings.  God calls us to love those who aren’t like ourselves, and to love people for more than what they accomplish.  God’s love strengthens and empowers.  It gives us a sense of belonging and stretches us beyond ourselves.

How about you?  What fuels your life?  Fear? Ambition? Pride? When is the last time you took some time to reflect on the love that God has for you?

Take some time to read and reflect on Ephesians 3.  Let the love that God has for you spill over into those around you.  Let his love be the fuel for your life today.
