Made for More: Masterpieces
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
Have you ever created a “masterpiece?” I can’t say that I have ever made something so wonderful that I could call it a “masterpiece,” but I have felt the satisfaction of doing “good work.” In Ephesians 2, Scripture tells us that we are God’s masterpiece! The psalmist in Psalm 139 writes that we are knit together in our mother’s wombs with intent! You are God’s finest work.
However, unlike a masterpiece of art that is hung on a wall to be observed, we are made for a purpose: we are a masterpiece created to do good works! In his book, Find Your Place, Rob Wegner writes that we can find the “sweet spot” of our calling when we go to the intersection of our Gifts, Passion, and life Story. When we follow this personal “GPS” we can discover the good works that God created us to do!
How about you? Where are you serving today? Have you discovered your personal calling? How has God gifted you to make a difference? What passion has He given you? What does your life story reveal through both success and failure?
Take a moment to read and reflect on Ephesians 2. Remember you are not here by chance. You are a created masterpiece designed to do good works today!
