Handcrafted

Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

A couple of years ago, I was shopping for a new car. There are few things that produce more conflict in me than this. I was excited about the prospect of a comfortable, reliable car but apprehensive about the price I would pay! I remember walking over to one car and on the window was the description: “a handcrafted luxury automobile.”  After reading the description, I was a little skeptical because it was made by a major international carmaker. 

As men, we can believe the lie that we are just another person off God’s great assembly line. A human commodity that is not unique or particularly valuable to our Creator. This is not true. In the passage above, we see that we are God’s workmanship. Like a craftsman, he has created every part of our personalities, abilities, and lives for his good work. Today, remember that you have been made for a purpose and that you are handcrafted by God to do his good works.
