1 Thessalonians 5:18  “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s Will for you in Christ Jesus.”

My daughter has worked at Chick-fil-a for the past year and truly loves her job.  One of the many things I admire about this company is its corporate culture and one of my favorite things they do is say “My Pleasure” to almost any request.  “Can I have another ice tea?”  “My Pleasure.”  “Can I have some extra sauce?”  “My Pleasure” I only wish my daughter would say “My Pleasure” when I ask her to clean her room!

There is a powerful shift when we view service as a pleasure and the same is true with thankfulness.  Paul challenges us to give thanks in all circumstances!  Giving thanks reminds us of God’s presence and provision.  It reminds us that He is in control and strengthens our relationships.  To be thankful, focus on God’s goodness.

What can you give thanks for today?  A parking spot… An item that went on sale… A job to work at… A home to get out of the weather… A bed to sleep in…A closet full of clothes and shoes… A refrigerator full of food… A cell phone and computer…A dishwasher and microwave…

Take a moment to make a list of 30 things you’re thankful for and thank God for that he has done for you today!

God Bless,

Mike
