James 1:22 “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.  Do what it says.”

In times like this it helps to laugh.  One of my favorite comedy moments is in the 2004 remake of Starsky and Hutch.  In this scene, Ben Stiller plays the role of David Starsky and in one hilarious scene he repeatedly says, “Do it, Do it.”  As Jesus finishes his sermon on the mount in Matthew 7, he gives us a similar message.

After teaching on topics like anger, lust, marriage, oaths, vengeance, loving our enemies, giving to the needy, prayer, fasting, generosity, worry, and judging others, He says that following God is not about just knowing the truth.  It is about living it!  When we do, Jesus says it produces a solid foundation for our life to be built upon.

How about you?  Is there a chance that you know more about God than you apply to your life?  Is there an area that you have not chosen to obey God in today?  Where do you need to repent or turn your life around to obey Jesus?

Take a few moments to read and reflect on Matthew 7:13-29.  If there is an area where you need to obey Jesus, Do it!
