Philippians 2:3-4 “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of others.”

Have you witnessed a person who is under the influence? If so, you may have suspected the individual in mind was just a little off or not themselves completely. In Galatians 5 the apostle Paul challenges us to serve one another “under the influence.” The “influence” of the Holy Spirit and when we do it changes our attitude! We serve with a greater amount of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
When we serve “under the influence” of the Holy Spirit love is our motivation! We also serve with humility, and sacrifice for the needs of others. Because of the influence of the Holy Spirit, Paul was able to endure great challenges for Christ. (2 Cor. 11:23-29) And we can do the same today.
Who have you served this week? When you look back did you serve with a Godly attitude? Was your heart filled with the fruit of the spirit? Are the gifts and the fruit of the spirit balanced in your life today?
Take a few moments to read and reflect on Philippians 2:3-7 and ask God to grow the fruit of the Spirit as you serve others!
God Bless,
Mike
